Procedure:
The procedure is performed through a bikini incision across the lower abdomen. Excess skin and fat are removed and the abdominal muscles are tightened. Liposuction is often performed in conjunction with this procedure.

Recovery:
The patient goes home wearing a firm elastic garment.
A drain may possibly be used. A light support garment is recommended for two to three weeks postoperatively. There will be some postoperative discomfort and pain mainly the first two weeks that is controlled with medication.
